What is a Chemical Peel?

Chemical peels work by exfoliating the skin and diminishing the appearance of the following:

How does it work?
Peels work by removing the skin’s outermost layer. Chemical peels can be light, moderate, and deep. Lighter peels exfoliate the outermost layer of skin and do not require any downtime. Moderate to deep chemical peels penetrate further into the epidermis. They cause more discomfort and require about 3-10 days of healing time. It is important to avoid direct sunlight, harsh scrubs, or any products that may irritate the skin during this time.
Chemical Peel After-Care
Products such as Retin-A, retinol, benzoyl peroxide, or alpha-hydroxy acids can make the skin more susceptible to scarring and irritation. Please avoid using these prior to treatment.
Avoid any pulsed light therapy and hair removal at least one week before your chemical peel.
