  • What are spider veins?
    • Spider veins are small veins just beneath the surface of the skin. These are small red, purple, and blue vessels that present as a spider web under the skin. These veins can also cause symptoms such as burning, cramping, and itching. 
  • What causes spider veins?
    • Spider veins are a result of blood pooling in the veins near the surface of the skin. This happens when pressure inside the affected veins increases. Spider veins could be caused by problems with circulation. Other risk factors include age, gender, weight, hx of dvt, and prolonged sitting or standing.
