Rosacea is a chronic inflammatory skin condition that causes redness on the nose and cheeks. Symptoms of rosacea could also include rash, visible blood vessels, or skin thickening. While rosacea is chronic there could be periods of remission between flare-ups.
Who develops Rosacea?
More than 14 million people are currently living with rosacea. Rosacea is more common in individuals who are fair-skinned, come from a Scandinavian or Celtic ancestry, have experienced severe/cystic acne in the past, or have someone in their family with rosacea. Rosacea is most developed between ages 30 and 50, but even children can have rosacea. Women are more likely to develop rosacea.
